IMPORTANT DATES
CASTING, REHEARSALS and MORE!
We are very excited to offer the opportunity to perform in this professional repertory-style production. Please read more below for piece information, casting and rehearsal times.
Excerpts from "A Midsummer Night's Dream
The inspiration for this piece comes from the ethereal nature of summer in our culture. Summer is a time to fulfill our fantasies, and to take time to enjoy the world around us. While Shakespeare's story was one of intricacies, this piece will demonstrate the more basic themes of love, dreams, and a world of fantasy set to Mendelsohn's beautiful original MSND score.
Pointe Trio, to a waltz. (Name TBA)
This pointe trio will reflect the relationship of family; particularly that of sisters. Our lives take us down many unexpected paths through life, and through the ups and the downs we have family to return to. It is one of the few constants we can return to for comfort, support and unconditional love.
Brahm's Lullaby
This modern production will resonate with the solemn tones of a story involving a mother and her child. A pairing of young dancers with older ones will incorporate the story-telling elements of modern dance mixed with partner work.
Take 5
This piece will reflect he concept of taking a break from the mundane routines that our lives can often fall in to. What better time to "take five" than during a hot and breezy summer afternoon? A mixture of sophisticated rhythms mixed with partner work and technique will create a contemporary ballet/jazz fusion.
An American in Paris
Set to the intoxicating music of "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, this piece is a contemporary fusion of ballet and pointe work. Inspired by time Gershwin had spent in Paris, the music is in the form of an extended tone poem evoking the sights and energy of the French capital in the 1920s.
Clair de Lune
A modern duet, set to the soothing tones of Claude Debussy. These two dancers will bring something beautiful to life in a piece that speaks to the universal tones of love and loss.
